POSITION: Senior Customer Service Representative REPORTING TO: Store Manager MISSION: To provide excellent customer service as part of the store team, maximizing sales and assisting in the daily operation of the store. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Helping maximize store sales by consistently delivering the Indigo customer service commitment: Acknowledge and greet customers as they enter and throughout the store. Ask customers if they require help locating an item. Take customers to the correct section, put the book into the customer's hand and suggest related titles and authors. When unfamiliar with a title, know how to use SIMS to find information and put the title in the customer's hand. Promote and support the iREWARDS card and Chapters.Indigo.ca, and advise customers of special promotions. Learning each week about bestselling and new release titles. Within 3 rings, answering the telephone courteously, including identifying yourself and the store. Assisting with the development and training of the store team. Assisting store management with recruiting new Customer Service Representatives. Knowing the basic store layout and being able to answer general customer questions about entire store. Performing key holder duties and open/close store. Assuming some supervisory duties when store management not present. Assisting in maintaining stock levels and building and maintaining merchandising displays. Communicating effectively with co-workers and supervisors. Supporting and encouraging teamwork within entire store staff and within district stores. Knowing and following all loss prevention procedures. Helping maintain a clean, safe and organized store. Following all company policies, procedures and assignments. Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time. AND YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS: Previous retail experience would be an asset. Love of books Ability and desire to deliver the Indigo customer service commitment Excellent customer service skills, friendly and outgoing personality. Available for shift-work. May require heavy lifting and repetitive bending. Natural sales ability, desire to learn and succeed.
